The Disco Retreat Pt. 1
I went to a party at Caddie's and met this Gal Roseanne in the
ladies room. I later danced with her and her friends in this big
circle to Love Attack and had sooo much fun. Roseanne and I conversed a few times via email and one night joined her and
some friends for Happy Hour, everyone was so friendly and if
I wasn't introduced to them, they would introduce themselves
to me. Had a great time again, to make a long story short, went
to Big Bear, went to another party and so and so on. I have now become party of this family and no more boring weekends for me!
I am having the time of my life!
Thanks JV and BTD for bringing us all together through this
awesome website.

My dear friend DJ Rene introduced me to BTD and I've been
attending most of their parties every since and became one of
the original Gal Pals.I remember the first time I saw Deanne and
Richard when they came to a Happy Hour at Carmines in Pasadena
I had not seen them in years I didn't even recognize Deanne and
who would have thought that we'd end up such good friends that
I even went to Vegas for Deanne & George's wedding. The first time
I saw another good friend JohnF2F was at the rock of the 80's
party at the lodge he was back behind the turn tables boy was I
happy I've been a fan of F2F for many years all I could do was
cheer him on and call my sister Nina so she could hear him play. I'm
so thankful to Johnny for putting this website together and DJ Rene
for introducing me to the BTD website and reuniting me with old
friends and all the new friends I now call my BTD family.

...ok..one day I was at work....very busy...and then someone
called me on the phone and told me to check out this new website
called Back to Disco....I said HUH? Really? hmmmm....I said ok...will
do. A few hours later the same person called me again..."Did you
check it out yet?" No...I haven't had a chance ...I'll get to it....
geeesh... This person knew I LOVED DISCO...after all on our way to Vegas in 1997 to get married all Dan & I heard on our cd player and cassette player was DISCO...it's even on our Video Camera (proof
of our love of Disco).... Finally I got home and got another call
and looked it up....was very exciting....exhiliarating....told myself
why did I wait so many hours to get to this website? Then I just
read and laughed and giggled at all the cute stuff being posted. I
was called again to please go ahead and post. I finally posted. And
met some fine people at the Halloween party at Caddies....Dan & I
were ecstatic! After a few months I was hooked! Then for awhile
there I think I posted too much! And I was telling everybody else
about Back to Disco and how wonderful it is....
Thanks to Mario who got me started Now I am here....

I remember my ex husband telling me about these great disco
parties that played DISCO all night long & only happened once a
month. He kept telling me I MUST check one out, so I went to
Caddies on Oct.15 with my neighbor (Aide)Didn't really know
anyone that night but I Loved the music and everyone seemed
to be having a great time. That night going home I remember
telling Aide, "we can't miss the next one" So we went to "The
Mexican cafe" and there we met none other than Richard Soto.
He was so nice and attentive (he unscrewed a light bulb that
was very bright in our faces)he said to check out the BTD.com and invited us to the following gathering,(Silly & Frankie's) and there I
met all my new found friends. Every one made us feel so welcomed.
And for that I would like to thank Richard Soto and my ex husband. Xoxox

My cousin MartinCirkis was in touch with JV and introduced me to
him at one of his Laker parties. Martin explained to me about BTD
and that I should go to one of their parties. Eventually, I ended
up going to a party at the Spy Room and found my long time friend again, John Guzman. I had a great time seeing old faces and meet
new ones. JoGu invited me to a private party which was the
LeVissio party (Go Go Girl's Birthday Party) and after that I was
hooked! Thank you BTD, it's been a wonderful ride. You all are a
great group of people.

I am reflecting back on a day (back in 1985-1986) when my dad
took my sister and I out to dinner, and on the way there he was listening to KRLA, well they started to play some “Oldies from the
50-60s and I remember my Dad would get teary eyed and say
“girls I know I must look like a nut to you, but some of these songs
take me back to a place in time where I had the best time of my l
ife with my family, friends, etc., ..” So my sister and I would laugh
and he would tell us, “oh you just wait and see, when you are older
and you hear the music you use to when you were younger you will remember this day”. Well 20 years later its so true, I went out the
other night with some friends and the DJ took us back he started
to play “So many men so little time”, “Panic” “Step by Step”, “Jump Shot”.. Well I sat there and all I could remember was my Cha-Cha
days, and I could feel the burn in my eyes from the tears of joy reflecting back… I then turned to my daughter, and told her the
ame thing my dad told me… She smiled and said “What ever Mom”

Jimmy and I first discovered BTD when AL (Liquid Sky) told us
about it on a Thursday and once we logged on to the website on
Friday afternoon, we realized that there was going to be a party
at the Ranch that same night. Without thinking twice Jimmy and
I made plans to go and we were in disbelief of this awesome
"DISCO" party! We went with Eric, Tracy, Jerry (Allesio)and Al. I
couldn't believe my ears and the feeling for the music that I once
breath from came back in matter of minutes of being there. It
brought back so many memories. I was such an emotional case that
I knew that this was where I belong. I met Johnny there and what
a pleasure it was! A single man to bring so many people together.
WOW! I also ran into many people I knew from back in the day and
I will always be greatful to you Johnny for bringing ALL of them back
into my life. I took pictures that night and as you can see we were
there that first day and we are still here today. Thanks for the ride
and I will never forget this place. It's a little piece of heaven on
earth.

So Ive been lurking this wonderful site for a bit and listening to the
Back to Disco station on Live365.com and I love it~!!!
So I decided it was time to post about myself and say hello. Im 24years old Im the first child born to the Miranda family made up of my mom Eva and 5 crazy disco dancing aunts Blanca, Sandra, Lorena,
Alma and Delila! and not to forget my two much tammer Uncles
King and Leonard. SO every weekend I would see my mom aunts
with all their friends get dressed up teased up Aqua Netted up for
the night in town. I would hear about Circus, Fantasia, Peppers
and others places they were headed to. They had Burning with
fire by Tapps playing on the radio to turn up the mood and I would
stand behind the door watch and say "wow I want to go out out
t looks like fun" and being only 5 or 6 you would think I would be
playing with toys, haha no way... the partying was in my blood!
From my uncle I would learn to DJ and I would know every Hi
NRG/Italo Disco song by heart. The music became part of me it
made me happy it made me who I would become years later. So to
keep this brief I love everything about this music!!! It brings back
good memories of my aunts and their youth and of my childhood.
Today I still have to hear the music everyday almost. Alot of the
music in the Electro/New wave clubs of today sample alot of the
Hi NRG sound but most who dance to it dont know since they were
too young or never exposed to it 15 years ago. Well thats where I
come in... As a dj today I play whole Disco sets at my gigs around Hollywood and everyone goes crazy!!! It makes me feel good that I
can continue the memories in my own way since I was much to y
oung to experience Hollywood in the 80's. As i was browsing through
the pictures in this forum I seen the photo of Abbe Abbe and The
Tyrant Michael of Tyrants in Therapy still going at it and still looking good! I must say the music doesnt stop! -

Before BackToDisco, John Torres, Al Liquid Sky & Martin RHS & I all collected disco records. I also sold disco records at record
conventions and record swap meets under my company name
Flashback Records. Myself, Martin RHS, Green Eyes Joe, Marcello
(Chelo), Lil Eddie, Nico, Javier and a few other Ginos guys would
have our own little disco parties, we didnt think there was any
more disco lovers other than ourselves. One day I recieved a call
from Martin RHS who was told by Marcello about a old disco website.
I logged on, saw many old faces, old djs from back in the day, I was hooked. Johnny let me start selling records on the website under my company name Flashback Records. I 1st met Johnny through another
old friend DJ Rene, we met at The Ranch party. I was hooked for
good. When my old Ginos Pals and I would have our little disco get togethers, I would always ask them, what ever happend to DeAnne
of The wormetts from Ginos. Everyone remembered her, but no one
knew where she was. I was crazy about her back at Ginos, but she wouldnt give me the time of day. To my suprise, I ran into her at
one of our btd parties at The Spy Room, and she hasnt left me alone since. Thanks To BTD I have found my soulmate.
Thanks Johnny, Your pal forever
